On August 28, Musicon welcomes one of the most respected names in Latin percussion: Venezuelan percussionist Roberto Quintero. With more than 1,000 recordings to his name, Quintero has built an international career performing and recording with artists such as Céline Dion, Marc Anthony, Oscar D. León, Chucho Valdés and Paquito D’Rivera.

Born and raised in Caracas, Quintero grew up in one of Venezuela’s most renowned musical families. Rooted in the rich Afro-Caribbean musical tradition of his home country, he developed into an exceptionally versatile percussionist, blending Latin, Salsa and Jazz with a distinctive sense of groove and rhythm. His career has earned him international recognition, including being named one of the world’s top percussionists by Slagwerk Krant.

On August 28, Quintero brings his experience to Musicon for an exclusive masterclass. Participants will explore the language of Latin percussion, including techniques, grooves and rhythmic concepts, while discovering how percussion interacts with the rest of a band.

Through live demonstrations, hands-on interaction and a Q&A, Quintero will share his musical approach, experiences and philosophy. Whether you are a percussionist, drummer or simply passionate about rhythm, this is a unique opportunity to learn directly from a true master of the craft.
