DEMON

Demon is een Engelse heavy metal- en hardrockband uit Leek (Staffordshire), opgericht in 1979 door zanger/tekstschrijver Dave Hill en gitarist Malcolm “Mal” Spooner tijdens de eerste golf van de New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM). Na een contract bij Clay Records (met licentie bij Carrere Records) verscheen in 1980 de eerste single “Liar”. Demon bouwde een herkenbare stijl op door de rauwe NWOBHM-energie te combineren met melodieuze en later ook progressieve elementen. In 1984 overleed Spooner, maar de band ging door en bleef albums en shows maken tot de split in 1992, veroorzaakt door uitputting en interne dynamiek. Rond 2001 volgde een reünie met Dave Hill als enige originele lid. In 2024 kondigden ze Invincible aan.

Steelover

STEELOVER is een melodic hard rock / melodic metal band uit Luik (België), opgericht begin jaren ’80 door Pat Freson, Mel Presti en Nick Gardi. Met drummer Rudy Lenners en zanger Vince Cardillo nam de band het debuut Glove Me op, eind 1984 uitgebracht via Mausoleum en goed voor meer dan 400.000 verkochte exemplaren. STEELOVER tourde door o.a. Nederland, Duitsland, Frankrijk en België en stond in Forest National als support voor Bon Jovi en Kiss. Na een comeback in 2017 en het album Stainless (Escape Music) werkt de band aan een nieuw, nog titelloos album, opgenomen in 2025 en naar verwachting dit jaar uit.

After signing with Clay Records (licensed to Carrere Records), they released their first single “Liar” in 1980. Demon built a distinctive sound by combining raw NWOBHM drive with melodic and later progressive elements. After Spooner’s death in 1984, the band continued until splitting in 1992 due to exhaustion and internal dynamics. Around 2001, Demon reunited with Hill as the only original member, and in 2024 they announced Invincible.

Steelover

STEELOVER are a melodic hard rock / melodic metal band from Liège, Belgium, formed in the early ’80s by Pat Freson, Mel Presti, and Nick Gardi. With drummer Rudy Lenners and singer Vince Cardillo, they recorded their debut Glove Me, released via Mausoleum at the end of 1984 and selling over 400,000 copies. STEELOVER toured across the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Belgium, including Forest National as support for Bon Jovi and Kiss. After returning in 2017 and releasing Stainless (Escape Music), the band recorded a new, still-untitled album in 2025, expected to be released this year.
