Kosmetika

Kosmetika is een band uit Naarm/Melbourne met leden uit verschillende delen van de wereld. Hun muziek is een mix van fuzz-pop, new wave, punk, krautrock en shoegaze, die samenkomst in een genre-overstijgend geluid. Gritty gitaren, strakke baslijnen en snijdende synths vormen de basis, terwijl de teksten afwisselen tussen Russisch en Engels. Kosmetika werd in 2018 in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland opgericht door Veeka Nazarova en Mikey Ellis en trok vroeg de aandacht met de moderne krautrock en hypnotische spoken word van ‘Kraftneau’. Sindsdien verbreedde de band zijn geluid met synthwave, Russische popgoth en psychedelische shoegaze. Het tweede album Illustration, uitgebracht in 2023, werd genomineerd voor de Australian Music Prize en kreeg internationale radio-aandacht. Na Luxury uit 2024 verschijnt in oktober 2026 Present Perfect Continues. De release word gevolgd door een Europese tour met headline-shows en festivaloptredens.

Kosmetika is a band based in Naarm/Melbourne with members hailing from various parts of the world. Their music blends fuzz-pop, new wave, punk, krautrock, and shoegaze into a genre-defying sound. Gritty guitars, tight basslines, and cutting synths form the foundation, while the lyrics alternate between Russian and English. Formed in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland in 2018 by Veeka Nazarova and Mikey Ellis, the band garnered early attention with the modern krautrock and hypnotic spoken word of “Kraftneau.” Since then, they have expanded their sound to incorporate synthwave, Russian pop-goth, and psychedelic shoegaze. Their second album, Illustration (2023), was nominated for the Australian Music Prize and received international airplay. Following 2024’s Luxury, the album Present Perfect Continues is set for release in October 2026. The release will be followed by a European tour featuring headline shows and festival appearances.
