ROCK MUSIC LAB

Rock Music Lab is onderdeel van Music Connection Lab 2026 en brengt Haagse amateur rockmuzikanten samen in één gedeeld maakproces. Via repetities, coaching en collectief samenspel werken de deelnemers toe naar een publiek concert waarin samenwerking, experiment en live performance centraal staan. De themalijn “War No More Troubles” kadert het project als een plek waar muziek ruimte maakt voor expressie, verbinding en dialoog.

Het repertoire verkent oorlog, vrede en liefde binnen rock- en metalidiomen, met thema’s als conflict, veerkracht, solidariteit en menselijke connectie. Je hoort een mix van eigen werk en bekend repertoire dat tijdens het repetitieproces gezamenlijk is uitgewerkt, waaronder originele songs van Anne-Tjerk Mante (o.a. Dit is mijn Den Haag), originele composities van Ascendants (onder leiding van Youmni Abou Alzahab) en rock/crossover classics zoals War Pigs en Holy Diver. Voor het concert wordt bovendien een rockdocumentaire vertoond als extra context en inspiratie.

Coaching & begeleiding: Lorenzo Mastrogregori (drums), Kaan Yazici (bas/zang), Danilo Mormandi (gitaar).

Repetities: zo 23 maart 15:00-18:00 & ma 24 maart 15:00-20:00.

Deelnemende Bandsessies-acts: The Electric Ants (origineel materiaal) en Strong Resonance (eigen composities).

Gastartiesten: Youmni Abou Alzahab, Anne-Tjerk Mante, Tjebbe Borggreve, Umit C (rapper; actief in raplessen voor jongeren en oprichter van Youngsters Your Stage Urban Class).

ROCK MUSIC LAB

Rock Music Lab is part of Music Connection Lab 2026 and brings together amateur rock musicians from The Hague in a shared process of learning and creation. Through rehearsals, coaching, and collective music-making, participants work toward a public concert where collaboration, experimentation, and live performance take center stage. The thematic line “War No More Troubles” frames the project as a space where music supports expression, connection, and dialogue.

The repertoire explores war, peace, and love through rock and metal idioms, reflecting on conflict, resilience, solidarity, and human connection. Expect a mix of original material and well-known repertoire developed collectively during the rehearsal process, including original songs by Anne-Tjerk Mante (such as Dit is mijn Den Haag), original compositions by Ascendants (led by Youmni Abou Alzahab), and selected rock/crossover classics such as War Pigs and Holy Diver. Before the concert, a rock documentary screening will provide extra context and inspiration connected to the themes explored in Rock Music Lab.
