The Flask – CD-presentatie

The Flask is a young and energetic folk band from Delft, Netherlands, who like to tell stories with their music. Their repertoire ranges from sensitive ballads to upbeat tunes that will get you on your feet dancing a jig, including covers and original songs. The music is structured around Celtic folk music that was inspired by the likes of Rapalje and The High Kings, but also fantasy influences from for instance Faun and can be heard and raw pirate tales inspired on Ye Banished Privateers. The four-part harmony vocals, guitar, tin and low whistles, violin, bodhràn, piano and cajon provide a festive atmosphere where the listener has no choice but to dance, laugh and sing along as they are carried away to another world.

In 2012, The Flask started as a group chemistry students that like to play some music together. Soon, folk music turned out to be a binding factor. After a few years mainly playing for friends the four of them decided to sail the high seas. Now they regularly play on festivals and parties. In 2018 they signed a contract to the indie record label Friendly Folk Records. Up to now, The band is steadily becoming established in the folk festival scene, with appearances at: Archeon Midwinter Fair, Fantasy Fest Rijswijk and Rapalje Zomerfolk.

At December 2019, The Flask released their debut single Faerie Folk via Friendly Folk Records. It can be downloaded via Bandcamp or streamed on all digital streaming platforms. Currently, The Flask is working on new original material with plans of releasing their first album on 11 June 2021 via Friendly Folk Records. On the 10^th of July we will present our album at Musicon, The Hague.
