The Rose of Avalanche
Ook “Goddess”, “Too Many Castles In The Sky”, “Velveteen” en “Always There” bereikten hoge posities in de UK Independent Charts.

The Rose of Avalanche
The Rose of Avalanche was formed in Leeds in 1983 by three school friends who drew musical inspiration from Hendrix, MC5, The Stooges, and Lou Reed. From the outset, the band developed a distinctive, guitar-driven goth-rock sound. Even before playing a live show, they recorded a John Peel Session at the BBC’s Maida Vale Studios in 1985. Peel subsequently placed their debut single, “L.A. Rain,” at number 26 in his 1985 Festive 50. Tracks such as “Goddess,” “Too Many Castles In The Sky,” “Velveteen,” and “Always There” also achieved high positions on the UK Independent Charts. After supporting The Mission on tour across Europe, the band released their debut album, Never Another Sunset, in 1989, followed by String A Beads and I.C.E. The band split up following a final European tour in 1992. The Rose of Avalanche returned in 2019 with their original lineup. Since then, they have performed new shows, released their BBC sessions (in 2021), and played at various festivals. The current lineup includes guitarist David ‘Wolfie’ Wolfenden and bassist Ade Clark.
